FGR Open House

Attention Seniors,

Thursday November 12th is the FGR Open House. The Lacrosse Program will have a table with information for incoming freshman and parents to meet coaches and players, as well as learn about our program. This is an extremely important night for the lacrosse program and our Honey Badger Club. Our mission is to get experienced lacrosse players and those interested in picking up the game for the first time in high school, to want to come to FGR to play lacrosse.

I am looking for 2 or 3 upperclassmen, preferably seniors, to be in attendance from 6pm-8pm to provide insight to incoming FGR players and families.

If interested in working the lacrosse table, please email Coach Carl at jjcarl@fgrhs.org

Winter Off Season Lacrosse Information

Gentlemen,

The 2021 season is quickly approaching; only 132 days till the first day of the season. That’s roughly 19 weeks till we hit the field. We have a lot of work to do. It’s time to Batten Down the Hatches.

4 Man Workouts: The Thursday opportunities where coaches and any number of players could practice has ended, so we are back to four man workouts. If you do not know the MHSAA rules, coaches are only allowed to work with 4 players at at time during the off season. That had been changed due to COVID cancelling our season last year to provide more opportunities for our student athletes, but it only was through October. I have created a sign up genius link so you can sign up. Defense will go on Tuesdays and Offense will go on Thursdays from 3-3:45pm, following lifting.

Power Lifting Club: The FGR Power-lifting club has been going going for a couple weeks now, and with the end of fall sports, is starting to fill up fast.

Below is a link to a sign up genius with the different days and times for each session. Each session will be 45 mins long because we can only have maximum of 17 people in the weight room. I encourage you to sign up using this link. Only students that have signed up on the link will be allowed in the weight room. All student working out MUST wear a mask and adhere by the social distancing rules. Failure to follow proper procedure will result in removal from the weight room that day, and if it continues, from using the weight room altogether.

We want to give you the opportunity to get back in competitive shape, but you must be able to follow the rules to prevent another shut down of the school.

A couple notes:
-If you are already working out with a sports team that day, please do not sign up for one of the session held by the Power-lifting club.
-If you have a club meeting the same day (Stuco, Pro-Life, Men’s group,) I encourage you to attend you club meeting and make this a second priority.
