Irish News · Brick Paver Patio

Greetings from the FGR Booster Club. We hope you are all staying safe and enjoying this added time with your family. If you are like the Kaisers, you sure are missing sports and all of the friends you have at FGR, but understand the need for a quarantine. Hopefully we will all be able to emerge soon and can look forward to summer and fall sports a bit.

I wanted to update everyone on the Brick Paver Patio. We are still planning to install this beautiful space this summer. We certainly won’t be able to hit our original June dates, but that is a blessing, since you now have more time to design and buy your paver (visit: http://www.brickmarkersusa.com/donors/fgr.html). Yes, the web-site is still active and people are still purchasing pavers. Thank you, FGR Dance Team for your recent purchase.

Our current plan (it is subject to change a bit- as are most things these days) is to sell pavers until early to mid-June and then we will place the first order of pavers.  We would then install the entire patio in late July and/or early August.  We’re aiming to have this done before Green and White day in August.  What an awesome improvement this will make to our outdoor space and the sports field!

How can you help?  Buy a paver or two or three. The more pavers we have sold the more money is raised for the Booster Club and the school. It also saves in the long-term since we won’t have to pull blank pavers up later to replace with etched pavers. Who should buy a paver?  Of course, every senior graduating this year, plus every junior (be early), and any families with multiple graduates. What a nice gift to the family!  I know I usually speak to sports families, but you don’t have to be an athlete to buy a paver to honor a student, a favorite teacher, or a favorite coach or mentor. At other schools, I have seen bricks to honor the robotics team, the choirs, and a favorite musical or cast. Think of this as an awesome outdoor space to leave a tribute.

Thanks for everything you all do to support FGR and the Athletic Teams at FGR.

Go Irish!
